Our Future

We are hoping that Abigail will make it big in professional golf so we can retire IN STYLE. Hee hee!

Hairstyles are getting trickier with the client becoming wigglier all the time! However, Mom still refuses to cut the bangs which would limit styling options as well as require constant trimming.

The finished product (at least until naptime):

Justin's Birthday

Since we antipated Justin having to work on his birthday (Memorial Day this year), we celebrated it on Sunday by going to Benihana (Japanese Hibachi restaurant). Yummy! Abigail sure enjoyed the entertainment of having our own personal chef at the table.

Submarine Ride

Today we rode the Atlantis ferry and submarine then walked around the Hilton Hawaiian Village for awhile. Justin has had to work several 12 hour shifts at work for a military exercise which was pretty wearing. It was nice to unwind and do something "touristy" this weekend.

On the ferry that took us to the submarine:

Honolulu Skyline:

Looking out the window of the sub:

We passed many fish, a few turtles and even a couple of sharks!

What a great day!

If you are interested in MORE pictures, you can check out our other website (link at the right). We each maintain a website... This blogspot is a glimpse at a few photos with a bit of description to accompany them. The .mac website includes many more photos without much description. I'll let you guess which of us does what! ;) Here's a hint: pictures may be worth a thousand words, but *I* don't think they don't take the place of stories and descriptions! Hee hee. Really, the other website is very easy to navigate and shows off the main photographer's groovy skills!

Critters Resume

I just ushered my first gecko out of the house (capture and release). They are EVERYWHERE on the island, but this is the first one *I* have seen in our house. So, add that to my critter resume! Other resume bullets include: capturing a centipede whose bite could be fatal to a child (such as Abigail), killing MANY cockroaches (including "B-52 Bombers" which are about 3 inches long, 1+ inch wide and fly), and declaring/winning several wars on multitudes of ants - finally accomplished through my invention of the "ant"ernet - haha!

Playing and Bathing :)

These pictures were taken last week. Can you tell that bathtime and playing at the park are two of Abigail's favorite activities?

Polynesian Cultural Center

With May being Military Appreciation month, the Polynesian Cultural Center offered a deal we couldn't refuse. So, yesterday we toured the "islands" of Polynesia, enjoyed a yummy buffet and attended a wonderful show with hula dancing, island music and the World Fireknife Championship.

Makapu'u Lighthouse

After several hours at Sea Life Park, we recharged with some lunch then hit the trail. The Makapu'u Lighthouse hike took about an hour to the top, with Abigail cooperating by sleeping in her stroller most of the way. She enjoyed playing in the dirt and "oo"ing over the views before heading down on Daddy's shoulders. Hmmm... Abigail, you know how to "hike!" Up in a stroller, down on Daddy's shoulders - smart girl!

Koko Crater, as seen from our trail:

A long way down: (almost the entire trail follows the coastline)

Breathtaking Views:

Is Hawaii beautiful or what!? To God be the glory!

"Whasat?" "It is water. Please hold the stroller, Abigail!"

Abby catches a ride:

Did you notice the cacti? I didn't expect that in Hawaii...

Sea Life Park

Last weekend the Hohns could be found at Sea Life Park...

Abigail got a kick out of the kissing seals!

"Whasat?" Abigail inquired enthusiastically again and again , though the answer never wavered. "Those are PENGUINS, Abby." Well, artificial ones, anyway...the real ones were more fascinating, but I thought you would want to see the photo with Abigail in it.

"Shish" excite Abigail to no end.

"Turtoes!" Abigail also noticed and named all the letters on their shells!

HA! This is a "wolphin" (whale and dolphin hybrid) - the only one in the world. Isn't that funny? Anyway, check out the cool view of the ocean from the dolphin show.

Happy Mother's Day!

Here are some nice photos in honor of Mom and Gramma... We are pleased that Abigail met my grandmother before she passed.

Welcome to our website!

Here is a photo of Abigail and me at a scenic overlook on the southeastern part of the island...

I'm still experimenting with this new website, so bear with me!!!
