Ko'olina and Waikiki

We enjoyed a lovely morning at Ko'olina Beach with our friends Margaret and Charlie who we met back in Colorado Springs and in whose North Carolina wedding we participated. They are now stationed in Hawaii and have an adorable little boy.

Recent Photo Session

Dare I admit that candy bribery was involved in order to accomplish these 2 1/2 year portraits? Our March session was so difficult that I didn't place myself above this sanity saver. Anyway, it worked! Abigail even let me change her outfit numerous times.

Air Force's 60th Anniversary

This week in September culminates the commemoration of the Air Force's 60th Anniversary with many amusing activities. The base community center had a fun day planned for the kids, so Abigail tumbled on mats, assembled trail mix, received a flag tatoo, attempted the hula hoop, created a button, played several cute games and accepted fun freebies like a patriotic Beanie Baby.

That evening, we drove to Waikiki with some of our Wyoming friends who are now stationed here, hoping to see a Tops in Blue (AF band) performance. However, we mistook the park at which they were playing, so we ended up taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of Waikiki nightlife. Every weekend (and most weekdays), one can view street performers, shop numerous kiosks and stores, taste ethnic foods and overhear live bands playing at various bars and restaurants; we even caught a hula dance poolside at one of the hotels on the main drag.

The Many Sides of Abigail

No, she's not potty trained yet, but we have tried!
