New Year's Day

I guess we forgot to tote along the camera, but we had a blast on New Year's Eve with the cousins at Chuck E Cheese. This is something that I LOVED doing for New Year's Eve growing up when it was "Showbiz Pizza Place," so Carl and I thought maybe we could relive our childhood through our kids - TOTALLY WORKED! The big kids (a.k.a. "adults") were in competition with the little kids to see who could have more fun - it was a tie. :) One of the best parts of the evening came in the surprise of practically having the restaurant to ourselves, probably in part due to all the snow falling outside.

On New Year's Day, one of my very best friends from college, Sue, and her husband visited us from Rockford (about an hour and a half outside Chicago). We wish we could hang out with them every weekend since they are such great friends.

Abigail was enthralled by the Christmas gifts they brought. Here the contents of her first purse ever are sprawled on a table for her viewing:

What a girlie-girl, know just what to do with the compact!

"Future so bright, gotta wear shades!"

Hahaha - again, the adults in competition with the kid for self-entertainment:
