Karen's Birthday

Lesley and I have been friends from the nursery since our parents were friends long before we were born, so it was fitting to spend my birthday with her and her parents. Anyway, Lesley ordered the most scrumptious Thai food, and we enjoyed a lovely evening of conversation at her condo in the city.

Justin played with the new wide-angle lens he got for Christmas. ;)


Abigail battled the temptation of touching the sparkly tree and its many cool ornaments. It wasn't easy, but we're happy to report that the tree stood upright and in tact when we left that night.

It is so nice to have friends like Aunt Diane and Uncle Laci whom I've known so long they seem like family. My mother has lived in the same house for all 33 of my years, and it's nice to be "home" in a familiar place with familiar people. While I still pine for my adventurous, sunny days in Hawaii and we do miss the independence of living on our own, we are focusing on the benefits of this season in our lives. Family and family friends top that list for sure!
